New York, NY, January 14, 2016 —Jazz at Lincoln Center presents a double bill featuring Christian McBride Big Band and Henry Butler, Steven Bernstein & The Hot 9 on February 26-27, 2016 at 8pm in Rose Theater, located in Frederick P. Rose Hall, Broadway at 60th Street, New York.Featuring an impressive and diverse lineup of top musicians in each ensemble, McBride, Butler and Bernstein will show off their talents as composers, arrangers, soloists and bandleaders as they explore American song.

The concert is headlined by GRAMMY® Award-winning bassist Christian McBride, who first composed for big band in 1995 as a commission for the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. The master musician has since appeared on over 300 recordings and is considered one of the most accomplished bassists alive. Now a leader of his own GRAMMY® Award-winning Big Band, McBride will showcase his unmatched ability to drive a band from behind the bass.

McBride is preceded by Henry Butler, Steven Bernstein & The Hot 9, featuring New Orleans piano virtuoso Henry Butler and multi-Down beat Critics Poll Winner in the Arranger category Steven Bernstein. Described by The New York Times as “both historically aware and fully prepared to cut loose,” Butler, Berstein and The Hot 9 infuse the hot jazz of years past with the endless possibilities of the modern jazz landscape.

Tickets can also be purchased at the Jazz at Lincoln Center Box Office, located on Broadway at 60th Street, ground floor. Box Office hours: Monday-Saturday from 10am to 6pm (or 30 minutes past curtain) and Sunday from noon to 6pm (or 30 minutes past curtain). Hot Seats, $10 seats for select shows in Rose Theater are available for purchase to the general public on the Wednesday prior to each performance. Subject to availability. Themed ‘Jazz and American Song’, Jazz at Lincoln Center’s 28th season celebrates the music of the stage and silver screen and uplifts jazz’s emerging voices through an impressive array of more than 80 concerts and programs, anchored by the exceptional Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis.
