CD Review: Larry Fuller

Once in a while I receive an album that hits the spot. You know, that special place within that reacts with jazz joy. Joy that comes from the sheer musicality, musos’ competency, great tune/song selection and above, utter professionalism.
Larry Fuller’s latest CD is all of the above. From the first note a smile spreads your face and you’ll feel like kicking off your shoes and, sponge-like, just absorbing the sounds.
This Trio consists of Larry Fuller (piano), Hassan Shakur (bass) and Greg Hutchison (drums).
Stephen Holden, New York Times, writes of Fuller:
In his amazing gossamer piano solos, he sprinkles stardust on whatever song he plays; you hold your breath in wonder.
Larry Fuller swings like a beast! — Critical Jazz.
There are 12 tracks on the album including At Long Last Love, Both Sides Now, C Jam Blues, Old Devil Moon and Close Enough For Love.
This album is recommended as a gift for all those **** who say that jazz is a discordant jumble of musicians playing their versions simulta-neously. This is not only great jazz it is great music, for everyone.
Don’t believe me? Well all reviewers write subjectively so visit:
Here you will able to read Fuller’s biography, read reviews, listen to the music and buy whatever takes your fancy.
